BALI 2012: CHANDI

Still Shots from Video

Chandi is the perfect salvation after an unavailing day filled with disappointments - from being trapped in a leaking roof café while seeking shelter from a sudden (heavy) downpour, to an average tasting pork ribs served by a bunch of overesteemed baboons, and finally, paid someone to injured my healing ankle.
We've thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks here while chatting up with 'em lovely crews and bartenders.
Beet Passion Caipiroskas - thanks to Mika for yet another amazing introduction - is so refreshing, so delightful and so yummy, Kenneth had it twice in a row! I am absolutely not a fan of raw beetroot but lo and behold, NO SOIL TASTE! That's what I called organic, truly. Even my Peppermint Herbal Tea tasted so harmoniously calming without the usual minty stings. Why?! Or rather, how?!
Filled with confidence and enthusiasm with their selections of greens/roots, I was trying to curb myself from over-ordering all its delightful dishes after being battered long enough with bad/average (meat)food. To be fair, the sate lunch we had on our first day and the braised beef rib on first night was good. Others were more of a miss than a hit with consideration on service+price+taste+quality. What's more, I NEED my greens+reds+yellows+roots and a break from meat.
We have initially wanted to just have a drink here before roaming on foot in the 'hood to shop+dine. With just one Beet Passion and an enticing spread of menus, we stayed put as long as our tums can hold out.
We left the restaurant when the sky turns dark, with a gratified smile that today was not a lost cause after all.
