2 hours since home. After 1 hour of nap. |
Finally! After 5 days of being caged/warded on IV and piles of antibiotic syringes, she is stable enough for me to do home care!
Looking at her ouchie. She looks so scruffy and... sick! |
Alas, she hasn't been eating for these 5 days, too! This is going to be challenging. To make her start eating again on her own. Which is why, I will be preparing to do force-feeding soon till she is able to eats on her own.
Ocha is going to have her self-grooming therapeutic session. After being e-collared for days! |
I've failed to coax her at eating, hence the force-feeding. I do not want her to develop complication like fatty liver disease (Feline Hepatic Lipidosis). Not after she is stabilised from a failing liver (infection).
There are many good guides offered online to make sure your cat is eating. Of course, an explanation to the importance of that, too! Just do a Google search and you'll see.
I didn't expect I will be needing to use these (feeding syringes) again. It was about 4 years ago when I had to on my Dogue de Bordeaux, Binbine. Towards his last few weeks, I had to syringe fed him some food and Chinese herbal remedies. Which does help to eased his pain a lot. By the way, I used a squeeze bottle type with curved tubes for the big dog. Easier than syringes for the amount of liquid I needed to feed him them.
As for Ocha, these sizes of feeding syringe will do.
I hope these will work fine for mushed food, too! |
