Mr Android 2012

Kenneth's new phone. I'm getting mine next week! Fingers crossed. Loving it!
Got it for a good deal and assured service (pre-sales & post-sales) from a neighbourhood dealer.

Wich one is it? The One X? This is the one I'm having an eye on, too. Man, it looks *great*! O_O

  2. Yes, it is! It took me a while to get used to the new ICS 3 new fixed buttons. Am very impressed with the camera; even for very shaky hands. Everything else about it is just great.

There were reports about some models having display problems. Some of them are yellow slightly, some flicker sometimes. Anything of this found on your device? And do you have the newest software installed? If so I would be interested in how the akku is doing. The One X seems to be exactly my type of device but I am a little scared about the reports, that some devices are "Monday production" :-S

  4. I tested all that on the demo set. No flicker, no blue dot on camera mode screen, speakers & mic works brilliantly, etc. Specifically asked sales person if all the sets he has are the same as this demo. Yes. Before passing him the dough, we tested again on the actual set we will be getting. All fine. I even made him assured me he has phone technicians WITHIN his company because from my passed experiences with official brand service center in my country sucks - slow repair period, extra charges like delivery or what's not within warranty period, etc. Third party phone dealers/shops are better - actual technicians in house who knows multiple phone hardwares & negotiable+friendly terms when phone needs to be checked/repair; most definitely doesn't charge you without your approval for detailed repairments.

Ah. So you knew about all that potential problems and made sure your device won't have them. Mmhhh.. Makes me even more want this device! ;)Would be cool to read something about your impression about the device after some days of usage. Akku etc.

  6. I will get mine next week or so. As my mum will be getting one, too, I will wait for her returns before purchasing. The current one belongs to my partner. I helped him check during purchasing and setup the device for him. Only had a day of it. I prefer to deal with smaller company instead of generic big company (hiring half hearted employees with high employment turnover) when I purchase gadgets. Communicating with an actual staff with his/her name card plus personal mobile numbers also strengthen the assurance for "in case of sxxx happened". The phone itself already comes with 2 years warranty from country's HTC service. I can just throw the phone back to that 3rd party dealer & he will sort all arrangement out between HTC & me within that 2 years. Don't have to go about searching and dealing with inflexible and often, clueless staves hired by bigger companies. I hope your country has such option for these dealers I found in my country. It does make purchasing new gadget a less lot frustrating & fearful. I will let you know when I do have the phone for a longer period usage.

Yes, in Germany we have a law, that up to half a year after buying we can bring back the device in case of production errors. The dealer have to fix it for free or has to exchange or has to prove it was no production error (what's except from obvious cases like broken glass nearly impossible for him).1.5 years more we have the same service but then me, the customer, have to prove the production error (what is more easy). So normaly I shouldn't be afraid, but I don't like all the hussle around it..

  8. Agreed. But I'm glad I have this dealer who is pleasant to deal with my demands. I came across several others who doesn't even carry a demo set and rejected me flatly to test my purchase before I leave the store! I wanted to view a demo because I came across many gadgets which are "photogenic" but looks poorly made in real form. Hee.
