Braised Chicken Wings, Airfryer Potato, Bell Peppers & Portobello Mushroom, Balsamic Vinaigrette Rocket Salad

Braised Chicken Wings with Potato, Bell Peppers, Portobello Mushroom & Rocket Salad

Going to put my turbo air fryer & rice cooker to good use! First, you need to decide/plan how and when will each dishes go into the air fryer for optimal cook-time. A good workflow makes cooking AND cleaning up a breeze.

First, I need to prepare all the vegetables & roots. Always starts with the non-meat/seafood to minimise cross-contamination. I like to start on my chopping board with the garnish/enhancer ingredients first - chopped garlic, ginger, etc.

Braised Chicken Wings
  • 6 pieces of chicken wings
  • 1 inch of ginger, slice
  • 4-5 inches of carrot, slice
  • 4-5 tablespoon of mirin
  • 3 tablespoon of cooking sake
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 300ml of water
  • sesame oil
  • salt, sugar, black pepper to taste
Rub some salt & sesame oil to each chicken wing. Place on high steel rack+pan in air fryer. Setting: Grill, 3mins, Roller Off. Turn chicken wings 1 minute before completion.

Place chicken wings, sliced carrots & ginger into rice cooker pot. Pour mirin, cooking sake, soy sauce & water in. Hit Soup 60mins setting or set to cook for 60mins on medium heat setting. Add salt, sugar and black pepper to taste 3 minutes before it's done cooking.

Grill Portobello Mushroom
  • 2 pieces of portobello mushroom
  • 1-2 pieces of bacon
  • 2 gloves of garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Salt & Black Pepper to taste
Remove stems from mushroom. Cut off dirty parts from mushroom & stem. Mince garlic, mushroom stem & bacon. Into mixture bowl, add a teaspoon of olive oil, salt & black pepper to taste. Mix well, scoop mixture into mushroom.

Place prepared mushroom onto high steel rack+pan in air fryer. Spray olive oil all over mushroom & pan. Sprinkle sea salt & black pepper on the whole mushroom. 1/2 teaspoon of butter onto mushroom where the mixture is. Hit Grill (190C), 10mins, Roller Off.

Drizzle the mushroom on plate with some of the balsamic vinaigrette from the rocket salad during serving.

While the mushroom is in the air fryer, you can prepare your chopped potato & bell peppers. And maybe a bit of washing up at the sink [^._.^]ノ彡

Potato & Bell Peppers
  • Bell Peppers, squares
  • Chat Potato, cubes
  • Black pepper & salt to taste
  • Nutmeg
  • Olive Oil
  • Spring onions, chopped
Potato and bell peppers in mixing bowl. Coat well with olive oil, black pepper, salt & nutmeg powder. Place mixture into Frying Basket. Hit Stir-fry (200C), Roller On, 12mins. Serve and garnish with chopped spring onions.
