Medan Steamboat Dataran Bandaraya

Going around,

and around,

to find a parking spot in this area! This is the first time we came here since it is activated! The reason we came here tonight is for the Arts and Crafts Market, an event that we saw in Facebook.

Finally found a parking spot. And it was so damn near the event ground! Lucky! But...

the Arts and Crafts Market is so pathetic, I didn't bother to take any photo at all!

I did mention to +Joanne Khow and +Kenneth Loke to not have high expectation about it. This is Johor Bahru after all. When it comes to arts, crafts or events, expect about 30% of effort and fun you'll usually find elsewhere!

Alas, this event is only about 2% of effort, turns up and line-up!

The usual affair here. 4 stalls selling all these blink-blink and bubble-making toys!
Luckily, there is other event and food here! Not wasting our effort to find that parking spot in this area, we've decided to have our late dinner here!

My husband requested me to take a few photos of these authentic Malaysian Food Trucks culture. With this many of them selling pretty much the same food, I almost gave up choosing.

Till this particular vendor who actually offered us a seat! This is it then! Our choice was ok! Phew!

Just as I was wondering why are these people selling the same type of food, I found my answer through Google! The name of this place explained itself! You cannot possibly missed the Steamboat part, right?

The best dessert/drink for such warm, still night is definitely that bowl of ABC (Ais Batu Campur). Shaved ice drizzled with chocolate syrup, rose syrup and condensed milk, topped with roasted peanuts, chinchau (a type of plant jelly), canned palm seed and corn.

ABC / Ice Kacang
We were given these 5 pieces of interesting looking otah-otah. It was good choice we decided to try this! It doesn't just look interesting, the taste is pleasantly interesting, too!

I must say, the pricing here ain't that cheap. But, the effort of making and given amount/quality of ingredients used, definitely cheaper than eating from other local Chinese vendors of the same kind/type.

Just avoid ordering this Iced Milk Tea from the same vendor as us. MYR2 for a kid sized cup, which usually cost less than that in a local kopitiam!

We've also ordered a plate of Rojak Petis. My husband was asking just how cheap can they can these prawn paste for? So generously given!
