It's been a while since I've updated this blog. A few travels, relocation and new purchases have passed since.

I'll try to update the backlogs here for the next few days/weeks/months. Time is a little pressing, health is not at its peak, plausible relocation soon and a mini travel trip coming up, too.

Love this li'boxy thermal bag with strap, courtesy of my hubby +Kenneth Loke 💑 Quick grocery stop nearby. Going to make daikon soup tomorrow night 🍜 Also grabbed a pack of vegetable curry paste. Going to try this brand next time.

Over-packed by a very careful and considerate seller!

I'm one step away from ordering the Easy-Off Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner online. Couldn't get it to ship from Amazon US to Malaysia/Singapore. Found a seller sending to Malaysia via 11th Street for a couple of hundred ringgit 😰instead.

Going to try this (Astonish) for a start. I cannot stand my oven having any cooked on grease mark of any sort. OCD.

Surprisingly, this brand (Astonish) is pretty affordable to get, and easily, in Malaysia! Leaping Bunny approved, too!

First usage;

  1. Dry nylon scouring pad.
  2. Spread and light scrubbing in oven wall.
  3. Waited for 10 minutes.
  4. Scrub a little more with a bit of water.
  5. Wipe off.
Nope. Just a little better but not COMPLETELY clean 😢 Prior to this, I have tried using the same method with toothpaste. Comparing these two (Astonish vs Toothpaste), my toothpaste works better without leaving a dull finishing on my oven (inner) wall!

This Astonish cleaning paste reminded me of Jif! Now renamed as Cif! in Malaysia, I think. Which was my all time go-to cleaner, for many purpose, in the late 90's and early 2000's. Cheaper than Astonish, too. Sigh.

So, if you're like me, who seriously expect to clean your oven like new again, this one is not going to cut it.

I'm going to scout a bit more to get my hands on that Easy-Off Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner soon.

Astonish Oven & Cookware Cleaner

Ordered this together with another Baseus magnet holder for car's AC vent. This one came a week later, despite being shipped out at the same time from China via Lazada. Once in Malaysia, both were handled by different courier. So, damn you, Skynet 🐢

There is a few sellers offering the same item at different pricing, of course. This model came in 3 colours - silver, black and red. I've chosen silver. Easily blend into our furnishing as well as not annoyingly obvious when there's dust or fur on it 😽

This is quite a versatile and sturdily built tool! I do like the Baseus collection since I've gotten it's first magnetic phone ring stand via ezBuy. The base is adhered with a reusable sticker pad, which I've tried, is quite challenging to remove once I stick it on the table. A bit of prying using my kitchen's spatula, I've managed to pop it up again. Still sticky!

Instruction mentioned it is reusable when you rinse the sticky pad on the base once it lost its stickiness. Looking at the quality compared to the reusable sticker I've seen on a genuine iRing, I am going to reserved my doubt on it for now.

It hasn't been too long since I've touched a Windows device; workplace for basic task like emailing. But, it has been a decade plus since I actually owned one! Actually, it wasn't even really mine. It was my hubby's netbook which I will use when we travel. At that time, I was using the early Macbook. Kinda heavy, bulky and not travel-friendly. Our Android phones were also in its infancy stage whilst Ultrabook, tablet and Chromebook are non-existent.

We have been using Android and Chromebook since. I still have that old Macbook, still able to boot up but has not been able to upgrade for years now. I've gave up my first and last iPad Mini, too. Too slow to even boot up to just watch some low resolution Youtube video on it; compared to my phones and other Chromebooks owned now.

Then came 360-degree 4K video camera at affordable pricing. It's time to invest in a device which will allows me to edit the videos taken.

Basic hardware power is needed. After a month of research, pricing ratio to hardware, including the ease of local warranty, I've decided to get the latest Windows AIO offered. Also, having a good discount voucher code in hand is a good drive.

Goodness me! This AIO (all in one) is about the same weight as my hubby's new 13" Chromebook! Screen and sound are decent. Of course, I didn't purchase this just to edit video which I won't take on a daily basis. It is also strategically placed where I can watch some streaming video pre-bedtime IN bed!

Also, I don't need to borrow my friend's Windows to update my other gadgets' firmware now! Most time, I even forgo updating the firmware as long as my gadgets are working OK.

But recent 10 months, I have found the need to borrow a friend's Windows a lot more often. Mostly to test or rectify certain firmware update issue caused by OTA on my newer gadgets. Anyhoo, so here it is, my brand new step(back) to Windows.

Has it been any less intimating? Nope. I still dread looking at the spinning blue circle, constant marathon updates, roundabout search for hidden files/registries...ah yes, the same old, dreadful shortcomings of using a Windows.

Maybe, I just need a little more time on it to learn it has improved a hell load since I last dabble with it. Maybe.

Split Gill Mushroom - first try
+Kenneth Loke spotted this for the first time at Jaya Grocer @ Citrine today. Decided to buy a bag to try. Pan roasted with garlic and butter, toss in with baby spinach & cherry tomatoes.

The mushroom tasted woody and dry in this recipe. We decided to just finish the baby spinach and tomatoes in this bowl, and left the mushroom out.

Hubby didn't give up. He decided to try another method of cooking using the leftover mushroom in this bowl.

First, he trimmed the stem away from these mushroom. Slow boil with water, mirin, bonito flakes, cooking sake, shoyu, rice vinegar & sugar. Pretty much all the Japanese common Japanese condiments I have in my cabinet.

Boil some bulgur wheat, set aside. Diced some tomato & cucumber. Toss everything together, including the water that was used to boil the mushroom.

Spicy Sour Vegetable Soup

Bought a pack of ready to eat spicy sour vegetable soup at Jaya Grocer, too. Not too bad. More of me hubby's taste, a tad too sour for my liking.

This brownie was what I've asked for dinner tonight whilst we were at the market. Hubby decided to add on the spicy soup and mushroom salad for me, too. Buuuuuurp!

First off day of the week, we are going to visit +Kenneth Loke's uncle who was just recently transferred from General Hospital to a private ward in Gleneagles Medini.

It has been scorching hot for the passed few days in JHB. You can't quite leave the comfort of your AC dwelling without a good sunscreen, sunnies & load of cold drinks in hand.

Madventure 360 - EVP+0.5, Auto | Edit on Insta360 Air

Getting to the entrance of this hospital is pretty confusing. Once you're in this area, your GPS or mobile data will be weaken. Blocking of roads on random basis around here are not helping either. Deeming us that round-about driving necessary just to find the correct entrance.

Do be careful when you're driving in this part of the State. Many drivers here took for granted of its low volume of road users in this newly developed town to drive without much care or awareness;  driving in opposite direction of the road, high speed at traffic lights since most of the lights are not working properly.

Next stop, lunch! I was thinking of having a quick, light lunch in the hospital - o'Brien Sandwich. It's Sunday, every shops and administration are closed. Just like their clinics!

Decided to check out Puteri Harbour, since we haven't been back there for almost 2 years. It was pretty empty then.

180318 Puteri Harbour (Parking) #Madventure360 - Spherical Image - RICOH THETA

The car park here is definitely better now. Since the trees have grown quite a bit, cars parked are well-shaded.

180318 Puteri Harbour #Madventure360 - Spherical Image - RICOH THETA

Quite a bit of visitors today. There are definitely more shops and eateries here compared to the last time I was here. It was drizzling by the time we've parked our car and walked here.

This is the 3rd time I'm here, on these 3 visits, the weather was sunny-drizzling-passing shower! Three strikes!

A brief walk to check out all the outlets here, we've decided to have our lunch at New Zealand Unlimited. It was a mistake. The wait was super long! Taste-wise, OK. Price wise, tourist rates.

Not impressed by its Sunday Roast
+Kenneth Loke took the Sunday Roast whilst I went mostly for the snacks & soup. We usually have Sunday Roast at home. Haven't done that for a while since I'm steering towards pescatarian. Also, +Kenneth Loke hardly has his off days since he started his new job in Singapore.

This place is better suited for drink'n'chill session with an optional bites. If you want to have a serious dining session, Sunday noon might not be such a great idea. Under-staffed in the kitchen(?). You'll need to wait super long for your main to be served.

We had so much time in hand whilst waiting for any food to be served, I've taken quite an unusual amount of photos here. You know I'm pretty bored when I have more photos taken.

I'm just going to post a few here, though. So, below are our orders for the day. Took almost 2 hours for the wait & eating.

Liquid Diet?

Crab Claw RM8.90

Spicy Mussels

Seafood Chowder

Sunday Roast

The sauce for his Sunday Roast is well-made. If you don't mind the wait - unsure if serving is faster at other time - the taste of their food are actually decent for local standard.

The moment +Kenneth Loke is done with his main, I immediately request for our bill. Billing is pretty swift. Phew. The floor crews are ample, guess the kitchen is the only department lacks in manpower.

Going to check out the Hello Kitty retail shop above this restaurant now! Bought a rear view mirror for our car! SWEET!

SWEET!

Next stop, our favourite grocer back in K.L, which recently has a branch in Johor!

I want, but I shouldn't. Will save it when I'm in Japan for it. It's not that far from where we are now, too. So, no excuse not to visit there more!

When we arrived at Citrine Iskandar, we almost immediately started checking the rental availability next to this building! I like how I can just walk down from my abode, I'll get to my favourite grocer, 7-Eleven, Mr DIY, Old Town Coffee café, pharmacy.... I'm sorted!

Only downside, the mobile data and reception is almost NIL here! Sigh.

Ocha is not much of a jumper/climber. Her physical shape limits her agility to do that, compared to other cats in this household. Also, she wasn't a big fan of high places since young.

Imagine my surprise when I walked into this sight. She seemed surprised, too. Teehee. My little apple Ocha.

Taken on Madventure 360 | EVP +1.0 | Edit on Snapseed 2.0

Discovered this band of youth operating a ramen food truck nearby. Decided to give it a try tonight. By the way, its operation hours are 21:00H onwards, for supper only(?).

At the time of this post, the truck is operating at GPS 1.479595, 103.763988 (along Jalan Harimau Tarom, near Standard Chartered Bank). For more updated information of their operation, check out their Xiadungwupelangi posts in Facebook.

180312 Ramen Supper #foodtruck #Madventure360 - Spherical Image - RICOH THETA

Next to this food truck, is another duo selling Italian fast food+Kenneth Loke was pretty interested with them. Will try it out next time we crave for supper nearby.

We've ordered miso chasu ramen. One normal, one spicy. The chasu wasn't done well enough. Rather dry despite having enough fats on the meat. Overall taste is OK. Not clean nor close to some of the authentic Japanese ramen we've had before. Cannot fault them. If they are going to get everything done using Japanese produce, it's going to cost 'em a bomb in Johor Bahru. It might also cost us more if they are going to go through the tedious process of making a clean broth.

Each bowl cost about MYR15, with free flow of green tea. By the way, I think they have used too much mirin or sugar in their recipe.

Crynx Instant Lifting Spray

OK. This is quite an impulse purchase. I've been having days when my jowls will just decide to submit to the test of time and gravity. I've been to two aesthetic clinics for consultation; eventually signed up for one in the near future's treatment.

There are times when my face looks a-ok. Don't mind the the laughing lines around my eyes, have them since in my early 20s. Didn't worsen thus far. I am 42 year old this year. Laziest person when it comes to skincare routine. Haa! Routine. If plastic surgery, or any surgery of any form, is not that scary and risky, I would have just gone for it. That, over daily/nightly skincare routine.

So, between my first and second anesthetic clinics, I chanced upon this product. Given the flash sale AND a super discount voucher in hand, I've decided to just order this.

Proper tamper sticker still intact

Pretty straightforward and simple instruction. Clean face, close eyes, spray. Wait for it to dry, about a minute, before you apply other stuff on your face which one would usually applies.

It is odourless. Sticky. It feels like I've just gotten some hair spray coated my face. It doesn't feels tighten nor stingy. Acceptable.

I've tried applying it only during the day. But, I've been having my good days without using this. Weird, I know. When I'm unwell and tired, my jowls will droop. Other times, my face is still able to resist those gravity pull!

So, came the day when I woke up from a febrile rest. Time to test this spray! After my morning shower, I sprayed a layer of Crynx, waited a bit, apply my skincare.

Hmm... it DID lift a bit. Fine lines are almost gone near my eyes. Jowls seem to adhere themselves, slightly, back to my jawline. By the way, during my regular skincare, which usually is just one serum oil and I'm done, I did a bit of massage.

Maybe that helps. I'll probably try this spray, follow by a more proper skincare routine, day and night for the next one week to see. Maybe not. Nothing beats going for clinical treatment and/or surgery, and/or good genes and health to achieve the task, realistically speaking.

Does this spray works as advertised?

Most of the paid advertisement you can find online about this has done a live test on younger skins. I did find one which they have tested on a lady in her 60s. I didn't see the difference in the video. Also, I noticed, throughout the tests shown, they sprayed on half the face of the tester. The halve, which they have sprayed, are the good side. The side which already looks tighter that the other halve. Not many people have symmetrical face - Facial Attractiveness: Evolutionary Based Research and Facial Symmetry.

I'll just going to finish using this bottle, if my doctor permits during my post-treatment downtime and follow-ups, and that's it. Since it doesn't cause any negative reaction on my face thus far. Perhaps, I should pass it to my mom, who is in her late 60s, to see if it really works to her liking.

Yummy treats!

This brand of cat treats can be found in Malaysia these days. Can be found at almost every mart and supermarket in Japan for much cheaper price, of course 🤑

Holding on to her new piggy soft toy!

I like the range of cat toys from KOJIMA! Especially their range of soft toys. I need to make sure there is no loose parts on these type of toys in case my cat swallows it. Also, I'm quite particular about the type of fabric used. Fur-less, tough and easily wash/dry.

You can purchase KOJIMA range of cat toys from ezbuy if you're in Malaysia/Singapore for much lesser than local seller.

Festive Promotion

It's that time of that year again, almost. Since we are here for lunch, we shall have it earlier then!

Hungry, hungry!

The range (rice dumpling) offered here is not cheap. Mostly using premium fillings. We've ordered the cheapest (MYR25) since it's the only one which I don't find it weird. We've chosen the pork belly fillings. One order is big enough for two diners. The other choices are too funky for me. My brain will not compute well with non-classic fillings 🤔

Dan-Dan Mien

Always here for this noodle. The best tasting one from their chain of outlets is still the one in Berjaya Times Square.

Not a pretty sight

The rice dumpling took a while to be served. It doesn't look particularly impressive but the taste is really strong! In a good sense, I mean. We might be here again soon to pack a few more as gifts and own consumption ✌️
