Shortly after my early lunch, it is time to bring my little Ocha to the vet! She was crying her lungs out during the journey. I haven't heard her voice in 3 days! Is this a good sign?
Sadly, it wasn't. Sob. When vet took a close look at Ocha's sclera AND her dirty external auditory canal - the surrounding skin is yellowed, she exclaimed, "She has jaundice!"
I fainted.
While drawing blood from Ocha and waiting for the test result, we discussed about the cause and treatment. Very thorough and details.
Ocha is not eating well again. This time, she doesn't seem as tired as she was the first time her liver was failing. On the 4th day of not showing any sign of her gaining her appetite back, we are back in the clinic.
One of the cute patient here!
We got here slightly passed lunch hour. I was pretty glad it wasn't packed when we arrived. Just 2 patients before us.
Checking out the Missing and Adoption notices.
I don't approve of purchasing pets like dogs and cats, so I will not encourage sharing here.
Finally! After 5 days of being caged/warded on IV and piles of antibiotic syringes, she is stable enough for me to do home care!
Looking at her ouchie. She looks so scruffy and... sick!
Alas, she hasn't been eating for these 5 days, too! This is going to be challenging. To make her start eating again on her own. Which is why, I will be preparing to do force-feeding soon till she is able to eats on her own.
It has been almost 5 months now since all four furkids are living under one tiny roof. All of them are pretty well adjusted at this point. Still a little tense but the outcome is better than I've anticipated.
Kohi and Purin have each other. That itself will gives me assurance they will settle in well. So, without fail, these two are warming up to the new household arrangement and condition on the same pace.
Solo Baby, Tatiana
Tatiana is cuddling up to her favourite Hooman #2, Papa Bear's pants while I was too busy answering her cries at laundry time. She is such a baby towards her Papa Bear and I. Still quite resistance towards the other furkids in the household.
Ocha always on standby to befriend Tatiana
Ocha is pretty stuck to her one bad habit in this new household arrangement for now. She will holds her pee the whole day/night for one giant release on THE FLOOR, close to the actual cat litter! Well, at least she pees. She is not yellow anymore, too! Right before the move up to KL, she has to postponed her annual vaccination because she was showing signs of liver issue again. Going to arrange time for a reliable vet to check Kohi and her out in KL. If not, I will need to make a bigger arrangement to travel back to JB for their check-ups.
Both Kohi and Ocha have liver issues prior to our relocation. Recovering well at the moment.
Brought my sweet li'Ocha indoor since last night to observe her slightly injured right eye. Gave her a bath this morning to make sure I can see her eye lid injury better and maintaining her general cleanliness.
Half an hour after her bath, I saw pus coming out from her left cheek! Her cheek and chin swollen up in a short time!
Panic. I grabbed her and headed straight to the vet.
Doctor Koh was busy with a major surgery when we arrived. The other capable vet was called away to assist the surgery half way through treating my little girl. A new lady vet took over. Darn! Poor Ocha was sedated after much delayed. Intense flushing through the open wound on her shaven cheek. This is not the first time she has an injury with abscess issue. The last major one was near her tummy. But this is the first time I see her in so much pain, being squeezed and flushed super long WITHOUT any pus came out. Cheek, under tongue and her chin are still super swollen. I super doubt this Dr Koo's diagnosis and skill. Damn.
Sedation. Saline flushing multiple times. Antibiotic jab. Painkiller jab. 10 days supply of twice daily Amoxycillin. A bottle iodine; Koh's iodine is very super from my passed experiences with other pets.
Post-Treatment. Still sedated. On our way home.
Took her a long while to shook off the sedation back home. Poor girl was confused, weak and paranoid. Walking, fumbling and occasionally crying out softly (still swollen below the tongue). Circling my bedroom floor until she tired herself out for a minute or two naps.
Strangely, this is the first time I saw Tatiana AND Purin being super hostile at Ocha. Poor girl felt more dejected than ever. Sigh.
She finally fell asleep for 4 hours before waking up in pain. I've never seen her cries this much before. Mind you, this is not the first time she has abscess being treated by a vet. Breaks my heart.
She was super hungry and super thirsty by evening, when she is allowed to do so as vet advised. I've never seen her THIS hungry before, too! She is still crying a lot, still a little weak from sedation and her appetite is ferocious!
Fed her two serving of boiled rice with liver chopped into tiny pieces. She was still crying. Gave her a few pieces of her usual dry kibbles. She seemed fine eating those so I let her ate a little more in between breaks. I don't want her to stress the swelling too much from eating solid food.
This is going to be a round the clock care on my part. Making sure her swelling doesn't grow and her breathing is normal; the swelling might affect her air passage.
Paws crossed. Hope the swelling goes down soon. Going to starts her on antibiotic tablet tomorrow. Sigh.
Update at 2130hrs
Still swollen. No sign of it getting smaller. Her pee is fine. Still cries quite a bit more than usual.
We can only bring the first 2 cats up during move-in because Kohi is still recovering from liver issue. Since Purin and Kohi are closer to each other, we've decided the moving with cats to be separated into two groups.
Tatiana has been very cooperative throughout the long car drive and waiting for us to settle the move-in procedure with our landlord.
Ocha protecting a scaredy cat Tatiana
Very rare and precious sight! These two are super close throughout the journey and the new few days, adjusting into their new home.
Prior to this, when Ocha was unwell and being nursed closely back to health indoor, Tatiana was (pleasantly) surprisingly tolerant and gentle to Ocha, too!
On normal circumstance, Tatiana, the little tyrant has very low threshold for her big sisters and brothers being so close to her/me.
First week into a brand new year 2017 with all our furkids safe & happy ♪♬((d⌒ω⌒b))♬♪ Here are a series of photos taken on Nexus 6P, and a bonus video clip of Purin's REM, also taken on moby.
Kohi is getting fatter and fluffier since he moved permanently indoor. It was also during that time when he was suffering from another liver failing attack. During that time, we had to postponed his relocation with us. I'd stayed back to nurse him well enough to finally made the relocation up North with Purin and him.
Kohi is the only boy and the biggest in this household. He is also the only one who has the most health-related issues. Good thing is, he is also the sweetest and easier to handle during those time. Pilling him is a breeze, on top of many other complicated recovery process. His weight has been maintained at 6.3kg top. We (vet and I) are targeting 5.5kg as the fittest weight for him, or at least get his tummy trims down. Despite his huge stature, this boy usually squeak like a squeaky toy! When he does cry, he cries the loudest with that big lungs of his! He cries when we bring him out for the car ride or during shower, of course.

Purin is still chatty. She will even answers you when she's fast asleep! She is warming up with her Papa Bear and me very well! She doesn't snaps that often anymore. Still not able to grab her jaw/mouth without her trying to snaps, though. We will continue to try because since birth, she was lucky enough to not fell sick and having to pill. Now that she is a permanent indoor cat, we will take this opportunity to train her. In case she falls sick in the future, we are able to pill and nurse her well.
Purin loves to greet us, multiple times in a day, by her skill-less slalom between our legs while we walk or sit. She gives generous amount of head bumps, too! Many times, I was caught choking by her strong head bumping into my ribs when I sat on the floor with her. Since Papa Bear is much taller, when he sat on the floor, he will not get jabs into the rib by her. Instead, every night when Papa Bear returns from work, Purin will cuddles his smelly feet whilst Papa Bear sat on the floor! Yes, she still loves smelly feet, be it worn socks or shoes/slippers. The more aromatic it is, the more high she gets whilst cuddling it! Eeeewww ヽ(>_<ヽ)

Ocha is still the smallest and slimmest in this household! She's quite a picky eater. Not much of the type but the amount and speed she eats. We've called her the Fine Diner now. She doesn't eats kibble that is being placed in the bowl for too long, unless I forced her. She gives up eating the moment she is interrupted - Kohi came staring at her after finishing his own food, or when we move some big object near her, or someone walks (loudly) passed our corridor.
Once a while, Ocha will comes cuddling with us. Quite rare for me. She prefers Papa Bear. When she does, it will be the most amusing sight! She can rolls, head bumps and bum bumps us in the most agile manner. For that, we've called her Stunt Cat. We are most amused by her talks, too. She doesn't purr or talks easily. When she does talks, she sounds like an impatient human! Almost like barking.
When we first moved her indoor in Kuala Lumpur, she started speaking Cantonese! She will goes, "Amm, Amm", "Mmm Amm" to let us know if she finds it well or not well to her satisfaction. E.g., "Ocha, this food amm mmm amm?" (Ocha, this food right or not right for you?). She will really replies either "Amm" or "Mmm Amm".

Tatiana is the most well-adjusted indoor cat. After all, she grew up close to me indoor! Still an angel. Knowing us the most. We sometimes suspect Tatiana knows human language! She knows when we are talking about her, even what about her! She is so used to me, she knows every bit about what I want and how I feel! ( ˘⌣˘)♡(˘⌣˘ ) She is my soulmate.
She is still acting like the boss cat in this household. Well, at least she tries only. Hey, I have 3 Queens in this household. What do you expect? Teehee. So, she picks on the only Tom in this household, Kohi. Poor boy, he is such a sweet, tolerant soul. I've always warned Tatiana not to push her big brother too far. Kohi is actually very, very strong! Once, many years back, I saw Tatiana flew from one corner of the room to the other corner against the wall from just ONE kick by Kohi. I left them both in my bedroom to grab something in the hall. When I returned, I saw Tatiana cornering Kohi against the wall. Everything happens so fast. Well, at least that put her off bullying for a while.
Tatiana has also started to eases a little more with the others. Most times finding her being tolerant to have 'em very close by without a cat fight or hisses. Sometimes, she will even initiates chase'n'pounce with them.
Overall, we are happy with the dynamic direction this household is heading. Yes, even for us hoomans.
It wasn't too long ago when my sweet li'Ocha was down with liver infection. She barely has time to gain what she has lost and now, she is unwell again.
Second day. She is starting to lose her appetite. This time, she doesn't shows any sign of tiredness like she did when her liver was failing.
May be her throat or gum or mouth (ulcer) issue. Will be bringing her to the vet soon when the public holiday is over. In the meantime, watching her closely and encouraging her to eat as much as she could on her own.
Recovering well from liver infection. Ocha is usually the Queen amongst my furkids. No-nonsense and strict. But, she is super sweet and gentle when she's with me. Melt.
