5 July 2012 : Pre-Vasamuseet

Woken really early to checked the weather if it is good for outdoor picnic at the nearest Archipelago. Disappointed at the cloudy sky which held little promise for a tad bit of sunshine goodness, we decided to have +Kenneth Loke 's picnic power pack indoor before visiting one of the museum in town. +Jamie Lau  had to changed out from her Rock-u ala Punk setup to another more town-ish attire. Hee.

The museum is too dark for capturing any clips on my camcorder. Took some pics with my moby and will upload it separately. Wished I could stay longer in the museum! To preserved the condition of that ancient ship indoor, the museum is a whole lot colder than outdoor! It is a very historical interesting museum and very interactive for its visitors; not merely displays.

So many favourites in there for me. Seeing the ancient giant vessel up close made my jaw dropped. The heavy influence of Roman's passed emperors in this Vasa era have also triggered me to pursue more details when home - the more latest part of the history around here which I have yet learnt. I've just completed the Dark Ages and jumped back to China's history studies from where I've left off. That explained SO MUCH about my confusion when I saw the sculptures at the Palace having some real kickass influence of Roman's mythological influences (slightly re-adapted). For, I (have yet) didn't know at all of Roman's influence in this part of the world before its downfall. I should have known, actually. Just wonder why my brain shut off from linking those details together. Man, the world(history timeline) is huge! And super intriguing! And super confusing! Need a better world history timeline chart than the one I had now. Kinda pricey for a PDF file, though. Sigh.

Did a little fun test on the actual skeletons displayed in the museum (victims of the sank vessel) by studying the bones up close, analyzed and hopped back to the description panels to see if I was right from observing each pieces - age, which part of the vessel are those skeletons most likely to be found, old injuries, etc. My interest reads of many forensic studies on passed cases of sick murders played a huge part in this fun little trivial games I had on my own in that museum. Will keep an eye for the update of DNA test running now to ID these bones more accurately! At the moment, they are being ID based only on an old crews log book found and estimated link from bones condition. Newer, better technology are being perfected each day. Hence, the possibility of DNA extracts from these conditions are drawing near each day. One more great reason to live today so I can have a tomorrow!
