Half an hour after her bath, I saw pus coming out from her left cheek! Her cheek and chin swollen up in a short time!
Panic. I grabbed her and headed straight to the vet.
Doctor Koh was busy with a major surgery when we arrived. The other capable vet was called away to assist the surgery half way through treating my little girl. A new lady vet took over. Darn! Poor Ocha was sedated after much delayed. Intense flushing through the open wound on her shaven cheek. This is not the first time she has an injury with abscess issue. The last major one was near her tummy. But this is the first time I see her in so much pain, being squeezed and flushed super long WITHOUT any pus came out. Cheek, under tongue and her chin are still super swollen. I super doubt this Dr Koo's diagnosis and skill. Damn.
Sedation. Saline flushing multiple times. Antibiotic jab. Painkiller jab. 10 days supply of twice daily Amoxycillin. A bottle iodine; Koh's iodine is very super from my passed experiences with other pets.

Took her a long while to shook off the sedation back home. Poor girl was confused, weak and paranoid. Walking, fumbling and occasionally crying out softly (still swollen below the tongue). Circling my bedroom floor until she tired herself out for a minute or two naps.
Strangely, this is the first time I saw Tatiana AND Purin being super hostile at Ocha. Poor girl felt more dejected than ever. Sigh.
She finally fell asleep for 4 hours before waking up in pain. I've never seen her cries this much before. Mind you, this is not the first time she has abscess being treated by a vet. Breaks my heart.
She was super hungry and super thirsty by evening, when she is allowed to do so as vet advised. I've never seen her THIS hungry before, too! She is still crying a lot, still a little weak from sedation and her appetite is ferocious!
Fed her two serving of boiled rice with liver chopped into tiny pieces. She was still crying. Gave her a few pieces of her usual dry kibbles. She seemed fine eating those so I let her ate a little more in between breaks. I don't want her to stress the swelling too much from eating solid food.
This is going to be a round the clock care on my part. Making sure her swelling doesn't grow and her breathing is normal; the swelling might affect her air passage.
Paws crossed. Hope the swelling goes down soon. Going to starts her on antibiotic tablet tomorrow. Sigh.
