Joven JP200 Water Purifier

Joven JP200 Water Purifier

I've went through several on-tap filters before settling on this desktop type. For just MYR121 from Lazada, and another 15% e-voucher discount, it's one of the cheapest and reliable (brand) around.

An average of 33L per day, 6 months duration before the next cartridge change - water condition dependent - has made this one of the maintenance-friendly choice.

Tap connector. It's as straight as I could fix without leakage.

There isn't a straight answer to whether the filtered water can be drank straight without boiling. Joven only states the "filtered water is for drinking and cooking".

The water quality in our new apartment is worse than our last in Kuala Lumpur. Few obvious signs include;
  1. Water filter for my cats became slimy or stuck under 5 days.
  2. Bathroom tiles turn pink/slimy within 2 days.
  3. Air-conditioning pipes get jelly built-up within 2 months.
Pipe outlet tied to avoid tangling.

It is impossible to consume water from tap in Malaysia. Just boiling it is still not good enough to ensure one's health. Water quality varied by areas within this country. But none is good enough without filter/purifier on own expenses.

During our stays in Kuala Lumpur, there is many foreigners staying in the same apartment as us. The most salable item from the apartment's mart is mineral water by the gallons. They even offer delivery straight to your doorstep. Trolleys of those were sent up several times a day.

We are starting to see that here in this new apartment. Residents starting to realise the poor water quality being pumped out from their home water pipes. Grim.
